Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma, Fluid In Stomach, Legs, Feet And Groin Area

My friend has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma . He is retaining alot of fluid in his stomach, legs, feet and his groin area. He is starting to have a hard time breathing and he gives out really fast. How long will he have to go through this? His doctor told him he will only be with us for about 3-4 more weeks. Does this sound accurate to you.

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. His cancer has metastasized (spread) to many areas of his body and the symptoms he is suffering from can be explained because of the spread of the cancer. It is very hard to tackle with such problems and I would suggest that all of you should support him through this tough phase (Im sure you must be doing that at present as well). It is very difficult for one of predict the time he is going to live but what is important is that he should be made as comfortable as possible.
