Stabbing Pain In Left Eye,pain At Back Side Of Head, undergone Eye Examine 4 Months Ago,normal Report. Treatment?

This evening I have had two different episodes of a very sharp stabbing pain in my left eye. Specifically it seems to be towards the inner corner closest to my nose. I also then experience pain in the back of my head. It only last for 10 or 15 seconds, then fades away. I had an annual eye exam just about 4months ago and everything was good. Can you give me some idea what I could be experiencing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms are suggestive of:
1. Migraine
2. Different refractive powers in each eye
3. Tension headache
4. Neurological pain secondary to fluctuations in blood pressure, blood glucose levels or serum electrolyte imbalance.

So, kindly visit your General Physician & get a proper physical examination done.
A fresh eye examination including refraction testing by an Ophthalmologist will be needed.
Investigations like complete blood count, serum electrolyte assay & estimation of blood sugar and blood pressure levels will be helpful.

Till then, maintain adequate nutrition & hydration status and avoid stress.
Take care.
