Sprained ankle. Used ice and arinca. Cold foot and burning. Why is this happening?

I sprained my ankle a week ago. For the first three days I followed the RICE, used arinca and iced five times a day. The swelling was reducing and the colorful bruises were slowly coming out. Tuesday I returned to work On crutches. I stand a lot at my job. Yesterday my foot was very cold and the ankle area has periods of burning. My Dr confirmed I did not fracture a d ruled out a blood clot. My foot is still cold especially when I am standing. Why?
