Spotting, Black Paste Like Mucus, Cramping, 5 Days Late Periods. Negative HPT. Implantation Bleeding Or What?
I am 5 days late for my monthly. And I have been having some brown spotting for the past couple days and then today I had some black paste like mucus. I've had some cramping nothing severe also I have been extremely tired and urinate very frequently. I took a HPT day of missed period and neg. Could this be implantation bleeding or something else?

Sometimes period may come late.
If you have doubt you can repeat HPT after 4-5 days as HPT may be false negative or weak positive in early pregnancy due to low HCG level.
Ultrasound is the investigation of choice to confirm G-sac in early pregnancy.

Implantation bleeding usually occurs just a few days after conception has occurs ( a little earlier than actual date of next menses). It occurs as result of the fertilized eggs being implanted on the uterine wall and if you are experiencing any bleeding after expected period, then it might likely be a complication of a supposed pregnancy which might not necessarily be harmful to your baby.
As per your description, it is possible that you are having an early pregnancy complication such as miscarriage, acute PID or irregular menses. You might need to wait a couple of days to conduct another pregnancy test but if your symptoms persist, it is best to see a doctor instead (ASAP).
