Splitting Fingernails. Your Thoughts?

I am 49 years old, I have been battling my fingernails splitting vertically for the past year. I have 3 finger nails that constantly split and get caught on fabrics and towels and I can't understand why they are splitting. I must admit for years I have used cleaning solutions in the bath, tub, tile without gloves. I am not sure if this has caught up to me or not. Your thoughts.

Hi,
From history there seems to have two possibilities.
1, Chronic fungal infection of nails,
2, Chronic irritation of chemicals on fingers giving rise to this problem.
Consult dermatologist and get examined.
Ok and take care.
