Spiking Temperature, Cough, Cold, Head, Back And Abdominal Pain, Appears Lethargic
my 4 year old daughter has been spiking a temp on and off for about 4 weeks now. she has had a cough and a cold which has came and went but has recently reaccured. she has been complaining of head, back and abdominal pain . a recent urinalysis showed a wbc count of 13 and a rbc count of 100. she also appears to be very lethargic????
With this back ground of history i can say that your daughter has a disease called Post streptococcal glomerulo nephritis, if the symptoms are not separate entity. If they are different than its a recurrent flu with some form of urinary tract malformation. With this back ground she would be put on some broad spectrum antibiotics and some form of anti hypertensive(mostly diuretics) for glomerulo nephritis. This condition settles on its own and patient is to be checked for renal functions and on medications. My suggestion would be to consult a pediatrician at the moment. For any in detail knowledge please ask if you feel necessary. Thanking you Dr Samir
