Soreness On Lower Rib, Tender To Touch, Localized, No Injury, Discomfort On Sleeping. What Could Cause This?

About a week ago, I developed a soreness on my lowest right side rib. It is tender to touch and is very localized. The sore to touch area is about the size of a quarter. I do not recall any injury but it fells like I got whacked by something. It is uncomforatble sleeping unless I am flat on my back. Any ideas what would cause this other than an impact injury injury or some kind?

You could be suffering from costochondritis of lower rt ribs. However, you should first get a xray chest and usg abdomen done to rule out any pathology in the lungs and abdomen. If all is normal- take some pain killer like tyelenol and apply an analgesic gel. Take rest and tou will be alright soon.
