Sore Throat, Tissue Red, Hard And Fleshy. Treatment?

last saturday i drank quite a bit of straight wiskey and a 2 days later i devolped a sore throat and then coughed up throat tissue. the tissue was red and hard and fleshy. still have a sore throat 2 days after the coughing incident is this something i shoud be worried about?

money is a little tight finishing up my last semester @ fsu. anyway i could still get your answer

Hi and sorry to hear about what you are experiencing.

Straight whisky can be very corrosive at times and cause damage as it is been swallowed. The irritation it caused is responsible for these symptoms and the cough.

You should not be very worried as of now unless something new comes up. It should normally get over within a couple of days. If it persists or get worse, then you may want your throat to be examined by your doctor.

Please, keep your alcohol consumption at minimum. It is a wise thing to do.
