Sore Throat, Painful, Difficult To Swallow, Dry Mouth, Large Bumps. Is It Serious?
i was layingdown and woke up to a sore throat . it was very painful and difficult to swallow . i breathe through my mouth wen i sleep so i thought it was just dehydration or dry mouth. but it hurt to just inhale. so i went to the bathroom to look in my mouth and i stuck my finger as far back as i could in my throat to touch the pain. i felt multiple large bumps .the further i stuck my finger back the more bumbs i felt. is this a dental hygenetic problem or something more serious? im kinda freaked out right now. ive wokin up like this now for yrs but always drank sumthin to clear my throat.
In all probability you may have had an episode of upper respiratory tract infection and a silent reflux problem though you may not have any symptoms.
In these cases I would usually advice my patients to take amoxycillin-clav 625 mg twice daily after food for five days, tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily before food for two weeks along with an antacid syrup thrice daily after food for two weeks. Your doctor will know about these. Also avoid oily, spicy and high flavored food and do not strain when you speak.
Try the above for at least two weeks and see if the symptoms recur or reduce. If they persist or increase then get an upper GI endoscopy and get back to me with the report.
Take care and do not worry
