Sore Throat, Mild Fever, Worsened With Medicines Causing Difficulty In Swallowing. Remedy?

Hi, I have a sore throat and my temperature is 99.9 . I went to the hospital yesterday and I got amoxicillin and ibuprofen . I feel like it s getting worst. I barely have energy to do anything, I ve been in bed for almost a full day now. I cannot eat anything without feeling like I m swallowing knives. What should I do?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to HCM,

you seem to have an upper respiratory tract infection

If your pain is more you can consider taking injectables for better symptom control in consultation with your ENT or even try a throat swab for better medication selection.

However if the symptoms are recurring and since you are getting recurrent such lesions it is advisable that you consult an ENT who may advice treatment which can be in the lines of medication or even removal of tonsil which can cure the problem

get well soon

take only warm fluids and do salt water gargle
