yes well i have a problem right, i am staying home sick from school today cos i have a really sore throat and im feeling tired as well as having a blocked nose (pretty sure its the common cold ) anyhow i was wondering if it would be okay going for a surf this afternoon and if there are any lozengers out there that help? cheers
Hi
Mostly you are having viral infection causing you nose block sore throat and tiredness.
So it is definitely not advisable to go for a surf. Because viral infection is suspected, antibiotic is not going to help. Rest is the main thing required.
Avoid mental and physical stress as much as possible.
Take plenty of warm liquids
Do steam inhalation
You can use some antiseptic lozenges to sooth the throat.
If the symptoms do not progress then nothing more need be done.
But if the symptoms progress or you develop high fever you may need a course of antibiotic (to tackle the secondary bacterial infection) antihistamine and antipyretic as the case may be.
Take care
