Sore Knot On The Back With Surrounding Area Red, No Injury. What Could Be The Cause?

I am a 38 yro male. I just got home from work & my right beck was sore. I took off my shirt & felt a round knot in my right peck about the size of a dime. The area is also a little red. It doesn t directly hurt, but is sore. I have not had an event of damage to that area nor any family history. Are there any possible thoughts?

Dermatologist 's  Response
HI,
After reading your query it appears that you may have developed Folliculitis of back area. It is simple infection and infalmmation in the oil gland. Do not worry it do not cause any future problem. It either gets resolved by itself or can be excised easily. Do not try to pinch or squeeze the lesion as it can cause secondary infection. YOu can take a pain killer like paracetamol if pain is high.
