Sore Arm Over A Month. Taken Vitamin B12 Injections, Was Painful. Cause?

I am prescribed to take vitamin b12 injections every 10-14 days. My husband does a great job administering these injections and they are usually painless. The last time he gave me the shot, it hurt my shoulder/arm very badly. It's been over a month and my arm is still very sore to the touch from the injection. What are some possible causes?

Hi Dear

Welcome to the board of Health care magic

Probably inadvertantly the needle might have pricked near by area of some nerve or the needle was infected. or there was less cleaning of the area at the time of pricking. Any cause might have created your problems.

Remedies;-

Hot fomentation.
Some anti inflammatory & analgesic medicine.
If signs of some infection like tenderness, swelling warmth etc the go for relevant antibiotic.
Better consult ortho surgeon. He after examining the arm may guide you better.
