I feel some muscle growth in one side of my nose and I confirmed this by less velocity of air. Please explain how to cure this. Is it any medicine available to clear this without operation? If I want to operate after some years , what will be the effect on account of this,? How many it needs for operation to cure? Awaiting for your valuable reply ,, Rgds, AAAAA

hello and welcome to HCM,

The muscle you have described in your nose can either be a tissue called the turbinate or a deviated septum of the nose which is looking prominent. Apart from these there can be many other rarer type of growth which can have similar presentation.
Assuming that the growth is former then if you do not have nose block then you do not need to do anything as these will improve when your infection becomes better.
But if the growth is anything else and also if you feel you have nose block and or headache then you must most certainly go for an ENT consult for proper diagnosis and treatment (endoscopy and CT PNS)
In both the cases (deviated septum and turbinates), the surgery is a fairly simple procedure which offer you definite cure against nose block and also the recovery time is short. A typical surgeon will advice complete rest in bed for two days, partial rest for five days and you can definitely get back to your work by maximum one week. The surgery is done within the nose and no scar is seen outside.
Having performed more than a thousand such surgeries myself I can safely say that this is a safe surgery
take care and do not worry
