Small Spots On Body, Growing In Size, Ulcerated, Vomiting Blood, Nausea, Urine Infection. Treatment?

Hi, my 8y/o daughter has small spots randomly over her body. Three older ones started off small then they get bigger and a little ulcerated. A couple of days ago she vomited blood accompanied with nausea . She also has infection in urine and excess protein with nausea occasionally on the days following. I m concerned. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there.

Thanks for writing in.

Could you quantify the amount of blood in the vomitus? If it is just streaks, it could be due to retching and tearing of very tiny blood vessels. Vomiting might be present due to the urine infection. Is she on antibiotics right now? Please give her plenty of fluids to drink. Bland rice gruel with a pinch of salt should make her feel energetic.

However,I would advise you to take your daughter to the paediatrician as soon as possible to evalute the small red spots /and blood in vomitus .

Hope this helps

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
