Small Child, Skipped Heart Beats, Blue Arms, Legs. EKG To Be Done. Treatment?

when my newborn granddaughter was examined this morning, the pediatrician noticed that she skipped a heart beat. they did an ekg and noticed that her arms and legs were a little blue. they are keeping her in the nursery for a few hours and are ordering an electriocardiogram in the morning. Do we need to be overly concerned?

Pediatrician, Surgery 's  Response
hi.
your granddaughter may be sufferring from congenital heart disease. your doctor will probably get a 2 D echo done soon. it will tell you about the type of disease if any and then a pediatric cardiologist will be able to guide you regarding the treatment. good luck.
