Small Child, Mild Seizure After Birth, Less Responsive To Voices, Cant Identify People. Cure?

My baby is 10 months old. She had mild seizure just after the birth and got it cured. As per the doctors its totally curd and we will not face any such problem in future. Now, after 10 months we felt she is not that responsive to voices as she is expected to be. She is not able to locate objects, even if she is crying and mother is just sitting in front of her, sh can t identify her. But, if she touches her immediately sh will move towards her. Also, she is not crawling at all.

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are very worried because of your daughter's problems. The current problems which your daughter is having appear to indicate a developmental delay. It could be possible that this is a consequence of a hypoxic brain injury (i.e. due to poor oxygen supply to the brain), which is probably the reason for her seizures at the time of birth.

She needs a complete neuro-psychological and developmental assessment to ascertain the level of developmental delay. She may also need further evaluation to check for any congenital or metabolic disorders which could be causing this developmental delay. So please take her to a pediatrician for a detailed evaluation.

Best wishes,
Dr. Sheeba Stephen

HI,
I think your child needs complete evaluation by pediatrician .It is very difficult to comment over these issues without taking history in detail and examining child.
To decrease your anxiety I am explaining the milestones achieved by normal child of age 9 to 10 months ,you can compare these with your child
1. Start to crawl
2. Sits without support
3. Starts to bable mama, dada
4. Clap
5. Pull himself to standing position
6. Pretend play
Wishing good health for your child.
