Small Child Having Diarrhea, Loss Of Appetite, Fever, Green Stools. Normal Symptoms Of Stomach Flu?

My 2&1/2 year old has had diarhoea now for three days. Today is the first day he has stopped eating. I have kept up the fluids and his temp is only mild (37.6). The stool is a green chunky consistency now after being brown and quite dank in odor. Is this a common stomach flu? How many days does it usually last? Any tips? Thank you

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Your child is having Acute Gastroenteritis coud be due to Viral or Bacterial.
Contninue to give oral rehydrating solutions to prevent dehydration and probiotic , zinc can be added in addition to ORS .
Usually viral gastroenteritis will take 3 to 5 days with the above supportive treatment.
Whereas bacterial gastroenteritis will require antibiotic therapy in addition to ORS,Probiotic and zinc supplementation. So consult your Pediatrician for the assessment of your child ans for specific treatment.
