Small Child, Bitten By Mosquitoes On Arms, Legs, Face. Applying Calamine Lotion. Treatment?

My 21 Month old son was bitten by mosquito s over 70 times on his arms, legs and face. He is obviously allergic and has come up in welts and red marks and it is very itchy. I have been applying camline lotion and have tried to give him an antihistamine however he will not take it. Do you have any further suggestions. I wondered if I need to take him to the dr.
