Slight Twinge In Left Breast And Arm Pit, Usually Before Periods, No Lumps. Is This Breast Cancer?

I have slight twinge to side of left breast and in arm pit. I have just had my period and ovulation . I usually feel these twinges monthly and think it is an indicator of my menstral cycle. Could you please explain this. My ovulation finished on Monday but still having slight twinges, not pain, been doing self examination but no lumps , should i be concerned about breast cancer .

Dear Ma'am,

Sorry to hear about your problem. The symptoms which you have described are quite common in females and they usually get them just before their periods. These are due to hormonal fluctuations in the breast tissue and they subside in a few months and are usually not a sign of cancer.
If they are bothering you a lot, you can get an ultrasound of the breasts and review with a breast surgeon.

Hoping for the best.
