Sleeplessness, digestive problem, appetite problem, acidity, worried. Solution?

Hi Doctors, My mother is affected with sleeplessness . We consulted a psychiatrist and he thinks that it might be depressive disorder. He suggested some tablets and said it might take months to cure this completely. Since sleep is affected, during day time she is feeling very annoyed. Stomach issues, digestive problem, appetite problem, acidity came and she is losing hope and confidence. She is expecting a quick recovery. Is there a chance of quick recovery within some days for this? Thanks, Srivignesh

Dear srivignesh.cse
I understand your problem but there are no quick fix solutions to severe depression. Also meanwhile work up on trying to find the etiology of her depression. That too might need a lot of patience and time. We are emotional creatures apart from having an executive brain and most of our lives decision are predominantly affected by our emotional beings and that includes how we live and how we react to a situation. So emotional well being is a vital part of our health. But does emotional management includes only the drugs that are prescribed ...?? That is only a temporary solutions. Please help her find a permanent solutions by talking with her and spending time understanding what is creating her present emotional state.
