Skin Tag In Armpit, Draining Clear Discharge, Faint Odour. Cause Of Concern?

Hi i have a skin tag in my armpit that ive had for years and just a few days ago i noticed it was sore so i looked at it in the mirror and noticed that there is a clear discharge coming from it, There isn t to much of it but thats never happened, the discharge has a faint oder but its not that bad. just thought id see what was going on

Hi i understood ur query and ur concern.we see lot of cases of skin tags of this type which have secondary infection.we should treat secondary infection with broad specrum antibiotic twice daily for five days and application of mupirocin ointment twice daily.after infection has been subsided electrocautery is done to remove the skin tag

Hello,

Thanks for writing here.

Discharge in skin tag is due to infection.You need to take oral antiboitics like cephalexin.Keep area clean and free from sweating.Use antisweat powder.Do not try to manipulate the tag.It will be better to consult a dermatologist and get it removed.
