Hello,

There is no tear in the cartilage, there is no need for surgery. The edema is related to swelling of the soft tissues, caused by the trauma. So, it will heal spontaneously.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
