Sinus infection,cannot taste and smell food

I have a sinus infection , why is my smell heightened? for instance, I work in a restaurant, but now i cannot work there because everything smells way too strong, i opened the bread and i cringed. I also tasted the bread and it seemed like i could taste the smell....I have a sinus infection. i know its related but what is the cause?

HI. IS your sinus infection confirmed by a CT Scan of sinuses. If not yet done , this is the first thing to do. If it is positive go for a complete treatment as advised by You ENT Surgeon.
