Hi I am a 37 yr old female...smoker...tea total...no other illnesses. Intermittent neck ache but have 2 ruptured/dehydrated discs in my spine (1 at L5/S1 and one upper chest level) so probably something to do with them. For the last 10 weeks my cheeks have been burning hot - mainly in the afternoons - they are not red though. Sometimes i have a low grade fever of about 37.1, sometimes i don't. Very often my neck gets very hot too - strangely my feet also go bright red in the shower and feel hot too and I have never suffered with hot feet. This only seems to happen when I am indoors - outside I do not feel hot. It often starts when i go home from work so i wonder if something in the house is aggravating it I also get a chapped line around my lips when I get hot and my cheeks sometimes feel a bit prickly. I get hot eyes and sometimes have little hot spots on top of my head. I have a back tooth where the root lies in the sinus cavity and as i had toothache and earache my doctor thought the root was aggravating the sinus cavity so gave me antibiotics in case it was infected. I ended up having 6 courses of antibiotics (flucloxacillin, doxycycline, metronidazole etc, which got rid of the earache but not the burning cheeks and other symptoms I have fluid running down my throat a lot of the time - assuming from sinus - and my tongue has a horrid yellow coating on it (using oraldene mouthwash for this) Some days i feel so awful and often feel 'swimmy' in my head I now have a steroid nasal spray but dont think its helping Hot shower every day to steam sinuses which sometimes seems to stop me getting hot and makes me feel better I sometimes get itchy bumps on my face and right ear when the cheeks heat up Had bloods done and the only thing of note was potassium level raised at 5.6 - my thyroid, hormones, crp, u's & e's and blood count were done Neck aches regularly and sometimes i have headaches but no facial pain so that's part of the reason i am not sure if my sinuses are to blame Some days i feel like some of my muscles are a bit twitchy too and i have the urge to tense them although this is not often Have been referred to hospital to have tooth removed as it is cracked - got to have it taken out surgically as it is most likely invading the sinus cavity and has a bent root which they are afriad may snap off and wander off into sinus cavity Don't want to suffer for weeks or months until this is done. I do suffer from mild anxiety and this just makes me feel more stressed knowing i will feel horrible every day Driving me potty - any suggestions?
