Shoulders Sore. Inquiring About Extended Use Of Naproxen. Suggestions?

I inquired of Bayer about extended use of Naproxen . Was told to only take for ten days. I asked how long to stop taking before starting again and was told only take for ten days. I am 56 years old and am very active, racquetball, running, and work as a zipline guide, pulling people in every day, My shoulders aer always sore.

Hi,

Based from the information provided it seems that you are a active gentleman with lot of arm activity as playing racquetball and started having pain in shoulder for which you are taking Naproxen. And wanting to know how much long can you take the medication.

Naproxen is good pain killer but its not devoid of its side effects. Here are the know side effects, naproxen can cause gastrointestinal problems, such as heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, ulcers and stomach bleeding. Its not good to take the drug continuously as it will cause increase in chances of having the bleeding. If you do not have any family history of stomach ulcer or any bleeding disorders you may able to take it upto 15 days but not more that as regular drug.
