Shoulder Pain. History Of Elbow Fracture. Any Idea?

For about 13 years I have had extreme sharp pain in the left back of my shoulder that feels like a sharp, icy knife piercing the muscle. 13 years ago I fall and landed on my left elbow and had a slight hairline fracture of the elbow. I had shoulder joint pain for a long time and could not sleep on that side for years. I can now, but this pain is keeping my from typing effectively. Any idea?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The sharp pain in the shoulder that you are having is not likely to be related to the elbow injury that you had. It could be due to tendonitis which needs an MRI scan for diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
