Should The Leg Be Kept Elevated In Case Of Bleeding From A Varicose Vein?

my wife is 61,diabetic,has CHF,high bp 167/93 but now is 127/88 pulse 66.Takes carvedilol 25mg. Varicose veins in her feet, and one of those veins started spraying blood. we elevated her leg, applied pressure ,and now the bleeding has stopped. Should we keep monitoring her foot for bleeding and keep it elevated? Should she go straight to the ER? Or, see a doctor in the morning?

Hi,

What measures you have taken seems to be fine to stop the bleeding. Since she is diabetic and has congestive heart failure, it would be ideal to get her evaluated in the hospital and take the advise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
