Should Swollen Wasp Sting Require Medical Attention?

my son was stung by a wasp on his index finger and another on his chest. almost 48 hours later his index finger is still red almost purple looking and very swollen and the spot on his chest is red and swollen about the size of a baseball. he says they hurt, but displays no other reactions. I have used Benadryl cream, Epsom salts, vinegar,. and baking soda past so far. the color seemed to lighten slightly on the chest but nothing else improved. should I see a doctor or is this normal. he is 7 and I don t recall him being stung by a wasp only a yellow jacket once but it was much better within 24 hours.
