Should Medications Be Taken For Blood Pressure Of 120/90?

Yes, I recently went to my doctor twice and and both times his nurse took my blood pressure three times in a row on the same arm and it was 120/90 this first visit and 120/92 the second visit. My blood pressure is normally perfect. My doctor is trying to put me on blood pressure medication because of the slight increase. Can taking someone s blood pressure multiple times in a row cause it to read high?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Mild elevation in pressure does not warrant antihypertensive therapy. Its absolutely not needed in your case.Regular brisk walk for 20 min /day with salt restriction to less than 6 gm/day is all that is needed.Monitor your blood pressure twice weekly for 3 weeks and have a mean blood pressure calculated.Drug therapy is needed only for persistently high blood pressure >150/80 mm of Hg.Have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out organic heart disease.Consult your doctor for further queries.
Thank you.
