Should I Wait If No Fetal Heart Beat Is Detected On An Ultrasound?
My daughter who is 36 and app 7 weeks pregnant for her first pregnancy. She was just told at 7 weeks no heartbeat was detected. She has no other symptoms, no changes in her symptoms of pregnancy but has been advised to take medication to help her misscarry. Should she wait longer or at least get another ultrasound before going through with this
Hi, thanks for writing.. Get a Bhcg and repeat after 48 hrs to see for doubling time.. If its present, it means it is a growing pregnancy.. There can be something called late conception.. In this case, you can get a scan repeated after 1week to see for fetal cardiac activity.. If there is fetal pole but no cardiac activity, it is unlikely to be a healthy growing pregnancy.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day
