Should I Take Glucosamine And Chroditin After Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery?

Hi, I am a 83 yr old female, have Osteoarthritis and had Aortic Valve Replacement surgery 3 yr. ago at age 79.5.. It took me 2 yr. to really snap back and have been quite well since. My husband died 7 mo. ago. I have back and knee problems caused by bone degeneration and so have stiffness and pain frequently. Have had physical therapy twice and do exercises every morning. I take 25 mg Meteropol and baby aspirin every morning. So far my cardiologist has not given me Glucosa mine and Chroditin which I used to take before heart surgery. Could you please give me your opinion? E.Akin

Thank you for asking this very interesting question glucosamine and chondroitin have been proven not to have any beneficial effect in osteoarthritis that should be the reason not to take them not because off your hot heart condition you should do a regular exercises to increase the muscle Power and tone around the knees continue walking and my sincere advice is to avoid any knee replacements
