Should I Postpone My Elder Child's MMR Vaccine To Prevent 'shedding'?
My older children are due for their MMR and Varicella (second) vaccines soon. Since these are "live" vaccines, do I need to worry about them "shedding" as it relates to my youngest child (less than 1 year old) who is not yet able to get the MMR or varicella vaccines? Should I postpone my older children's MMR and varicella until my youngest turns 1 and can also be vaccinated?

Live vaccines can be given on the same day. If they are not given on the same day, they should be
separated by a minimum 4-week interval, because the immune response to one of the vaccines
might be impaired.
This applies to MMR,
varicella, zoster,
yellow fever vaccines that is to all injectable vaccine.
So I would recommend you to give the vaccine at proper time and do not worry about shedding.
