Should I Continue Injections For Vit B12 Deficiency Inspite Of Its Side Effect?

HI!! AMONTH AGO I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH VIT B 12 DEFICIENCY WITH LEVEL 85, AFTER I HAD SEVERE WEAKNESS AND PANIC ATTACK.I FELT GOOD FOR FEW DAYS AFTER TREATMENT BUT ONE MORNING SUDDENLY I FELT AS WEAKNESS RETURNED AND IT WAAS ALSO A STRESSFUL TIME IN MY LIFE. SO IWAS DEPRESSED AND CONSTANTLY UNDER STRESS DUE TO THis. i once again had a mild panic attack i stopped it from turning into full blown by breathing exercises, but from then i am constantly fearing about another one and stressed. how can i get relief. i ve been prescribed melzap after one panic attack. should i take it or not?? i was given 10 injections of 1000mcg for b 12 deficiency then onwards i am taking oral pills with 1500mcg b 12. should i revert to injections again as i am feeling weakness again. is too many injections dangerous anyway?

Hello,
I can understand your problem and i would like to tell you that once you take b12 injections full course, then there is no need to take it again for at least 2 years, because it will be stored in your body for that much period of time.
If i were your doctor, i would like to get your B12 done again and if it continues to be below 85, then i will suggest you to take B12 injections again, but only after testing again B12.
B12 deficiency is more common in pure vegetarians, so i would recommend you to eat more animal food and if thats not possible, then have more milk and milk products, which contains B12 in sufficient amount. It is the only water soluble vitamin that can be stored in body, so once sufficient amount has been taken, it will remain there for at least 2 years.
Panic attacks and depression attacks are may be due to some other problem and for that i would recommend you to consult a psychologist. otherwise as such, b12 injections will not have any side effects.
Hope this will help you and be stress free.
