Thanks for query.crack in nipple may be due to hot bath and you need not worry much about it .the question stands is are you lactating?if not you can you nipcare ointment and it gets healed soon.keep the area dry after bath .it helps to heal better.regards

The presence of discoloration of the nipple along with burning pain, red spot, cracked skin is suggestive of infection of the skin of the nipple.
IS there history of lactation?
Infections are common during lactation period.
Is there associated pus or blood discharge from the nipple?
A history of lactation and pus discharge indicates infection.
However, there are other skin condition which can present in similar way e.g. eczema.
You need to consult your surgeon for clinical examination and relevant investigations to confirm the diagnosis and hence plan further management.
