Hi, I am 28 year old . I have been diagnosed pcod 1 year back . I went to a gynecologist recently . She gave me some test which included dhea. All my reports were normal except dhea count was 492 which my doctor said is high. She has prescribed me Diane 35 and glyciphage Sr 500. Is there anything to worry . I get my period for only a day. Is high dhea count not good. Will I conceive ?.
High levels of DHEA,leads to high levels of androgens. Androgens are normally present in females but in a very little amount.
High androgens occur in men. When High DHEA occurs in women, excess hair growth, ovarian cysts can occur.
Do not worry.Once hormonal balance is maintained, you can concieve.
Continue with the drugs that you have been prescribed.Increase your physical activity and maintain a normal body weight.Levels can be checked again for further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
