Should I Be Worried About The Ear Pain Caused By Hitting The Back Of Head?

My 6 year old son was sitting on the floor and was pushed over hard. When he hit the back of his head we heard it from 2 rooms away. He complained of bad ear pain in both ears immediately but they feel better 10 minutes later. Should we be concerned?

I have gone through your query regarding acute pain in both ears of your 6 years old child,

As you said that your child sustain injury over head by hitting from back, followed by severe pain both ears and after 10 minutes he felt better. Your clinical history indicates that his ear should be examined and all elements of head injury should be ruled out. For this purposse you please consult your ENT doctor.

Some times such injuries may give rise to fracture of temporal bone and thus lead to ear pain and occasional bleeding from ear too.

If hearing of your child is normal than no need for worry.
