Hello,

I can understand your concern for the dark mark after injury.

It is quite common to find marks after injury which is known as Post inflammatory hyper-pigmentataion.

It is formed due to high activity of melanocytes in the epidermis and superficial dermal skin. Due to high activity there is formation of marks as you have got.

In my patients with your kind of problem I generally suggest to have strict sun protection. Additionally a lightening agent such as kojic acid or azelaic acid is quite helpful in reduciing the pigmentation.

All the best.
