Should I Be Worried About Soreness In The Head?

I hit my head on a granite countertop when I bent over to pick something up and then stood up. Bumped it on the edge. It hurt, but have no headache, dizziness, loss of vision, nausea. Just a sore spot on the front portion of the top of my head. Is this serious? I live alone.

Hello there and welcome to HCM'

Well as you've mentioned, it seems like a mild traumatic head injury.

Appreciate you concern since you live alone. It doesn't seem like a very serious injury, however I'd advice you to be at home and take rest for the next 2-3 days.

Also keep yourself under strict observation for the next 24Hrs and if you experience any warning signs i.e. Severe vomiting/Loss of consciousness/blurring of vision/weakness of any body parts/fits etc. then do check into your nearest ER for further evaluation as well as CT scan of Head.

Otherwise you're doing fine ,just refrain yourself from any strenuous activities(driving/handling heavy machinery etc.) for the next couple of days.

You can apply some ice-pack / a bag of frozen peas over the sore spot and it'll get better over a period of time (7-10 days).

Thanks a lot for contacting HCM ,happy to help.

Hi
There is nothing to worry about.
That sore spot on your head will heal on its own within a few days. You can take any painkiller like Tab. paracetamol 500mg if needed.
