Should An X-ray Be Taken For Swelling On The Foot After An Injury?

I dropped a large heavy object on the top of my foot (bridge area - I have a large instep). It immediately swelled up but it was a month ago and it is still swollen. Should I have it checked for a broken bone? It doesn t hurt to walk as the swelling is on the top of the foot.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes if the swelling is large and there is pain on weight bearing on the foot then fracture needs to be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query.
