We ve just had our 28 week scan. The doc says she is a bit worried about our little ones nuchal translucency of 1.05cm. Babies femur length is 5.62cm, BPD 7.09cm, OFD 9.08cm, HC 25.8cm, AC 24.32cm. Hello and welcome to HCM,
Various measurements like biparietal diameter (BPD), occipitofrontal diameter (OFD), head circumference (HC), abdominal circumference (AC), femur length (FL) are done to assess the growth and development of the baby.
These parameters are within normal limits.
However, nuchal translucency is an abnormal finding which is seen in babies with probable neural tube defects.
Nuchal translucency is an indication of neural tube defects and it has to be confirmed by tests like amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS).
However at 28 weeks, these tests are not doe since they are unsafe at this gestation.
Ultrasound is the only modality available at this point of time.
You need to stay in touch with your gynecologist for further assessment, to confirm, rule out any abnormality and measures to rectify these defects.

Thanks and take care
