Hi,

It is not required to take it if bitten by a house rat. Rabies has been reported from some Asian countries following a rat but is extremely rare. It is not necessary to take the Rabipur vaccine in bite cases by house rats. However, it is necessary to take this vaccine in consultation with an infectious disease physician when bitten by wild rats/rodents.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
