Hello
Cartigen contains Glucosamine Sulphate and is used in Osteoarthritis, Low Back Ache & few other inflammatory conditions. It is not a Steroid. Glucosamine is naturally produced in the body and is thought to be important in maintaining the elasticity and strength of Cartilage in joints.Glucosamine is often used together with chondroitin sulfate and is given three times daily.
Glucosamine deficiency is thought to cause joint damage. However certain studies have found Glucosamine to be Not effective(not stastically significant changes) in treatment of Osteoarthritis. As it has few side effects its well worth taking the medication as advised by your doctor.
