Should I Complete The Full Course Of Ceftum Taken For Fever?

CECT scan of chest of my mother (62yrs) report " some consolidation but no discrete mass is observed, probably mediastinal lymph node is active. Chest x-ray report-"Lungs, diaphragm and both hila are clear. All test related to renal system and liver are normal. She has asthma since 25years. This time she had fever since 15 days. Doctor has given Ceftum-500mg (f2x 10 days) and azithral-500mg (1x 5 days). Now she has no fever. It is only 6 days with this treatment, still 4 days Ceftum are remaining. Now she has good appetite also. Please tell me, what is/would have the reason of fever. will it provoke again, what are the precaution she should take.

Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Improvement of symptoms indicate the infection is coming down and not full recovery.
2. Unless the drugs are causing side effects, you should not stop.
3. It is helping in improvement and the dosage needs to be completed. If incomplete, bacteria could again proliferate and possibly be resistant to durg.
4. Completing the course is important of any antibiotics.
