Hallow Dear,

You have taken a right decision of undergoing raspa after failure of cytotec. This medicine, as you have rightly mentioned is known to cause developmental abnormalities in the baby.

However, even after 3 weeks of raspa if you are bleeding, it is definitely suggesting some complication. Mostly your abortion is incomplete and needs to be completed by a repeat raspa. May be there could be associated infection also. In that case you would be having foul smelling discharge also. The infection will have to be treated by antibiotics course. If raspa is needed, it should be performed under antibiotics umbrella.

My advice to you is to get ultrasonography done first which will reveal whether the abortion is complete or incomplete.

The infection could be present even after complete abortion.

If the abortion is complete and there is no infection, you may have some
bleeding/clotting disorder which can be diagnosed by blood examination.

However, from your history, my first diagnosis is incomplete abortion, may be with infection. Please report to the Obstetrician for further steps ASAP.

I hope this helps you.
