Should I Be Very Concerned About My Muffled Hearing And Slight Bleeding In The Ear?

while cleaning my left ear with a Q-tip, i notice blood. there wasn't a lot of blood. there was also no pain, but sounds are kind of muffled. so i thought it would be a good idea to pour a cap amount of peroxide in my ear to drain it out. sounds are still muffled though. is this a minor or major problem. should i rush to the ER or wait til morning

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding bleeding from ear along with muffled hearing during ear cleaning with q-tip.

Your clinical history indicates that you had injured your ear drum, therefore it will be better to consult an ENT specialist for thorough examination and treatment. Till you are waiting for doctor you may do-

1- Keep ear clean and dry.

2- Don't put any thing in the ear.

3- Please plug the ear canal with a piece of cotton.

Most of the time ruptured ear drum heal very fast and full recovery takes about 08 to 10 days.

Regards.
