Should I Be Concerned About Tenderness In The Lower Legs And Swelling Around The Ankles?

I'm a 66-year-old male. I'm 50 lbs overweight, but don't smoke. Diet is healthy, other than quantity. I've been taking several medications for heart-related issues for 10-15 years, but generally feel well. BP and heart rhythm well controlled. I've developed tenderness in my lower legs, just below the calf muscle. Some puffiness around ankles. What should I be concerned about?

Hello,

Tenderness and swelling may be due to deep vein thrombosis or anemia or heart failure or infection or cellulitis etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Get it done color Doppler of the lower limb, hemoglobin status, ECG, renal function and echocardiography.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
