My 11 year old had pink eye Fri. On Monday developed a sore throat and fever. On Tuesday went to dr. Dr. Ran blood work to check for Mono and did a strep test. Only came back as tonsillitis . Has a z pack an has taken 2 days worth. Is still running a fever and says back of head and position on pillow was hurting neck. Should I be concerned yet about meningitis or keep giving pain meds til morning?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Please dont worry, it is unlikely that she is having meningitis .
Patients with meningitis will have high grade fever and vomiting and will be very sick.
If your child develops any of these or blurring of vision, then you should be concerned.
For the meantime , continue the medications , she will be fine.

Thanks
