Should I Take I-pill 24 Hours After Intercourse To Avoid Pregnancy?

hello doctorI am a 34 yr old , mother of a 20 month old boy whom i delivered through C-section. Had unprotected sex 24 hr earlier. As i dont want a pregnancy right now, would it be fine if i take an ipill? I have never used a contraceptive pill as we rely on condoms for safety. Really anxious, please advise, will it have long term side effects?

Hi,

It is not desired to have pregnancy within 20 moths of cs. I pill is safe and is sure to avoid pregnancy due to unprotected sex, within 72 hours of sex (earlier the better). So I would suggest to take iPill earliest and also go for suitable contraceptive with advise of your gynecologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
