Shots Of B12 In Glute, Lump On Injection Site, Soreness, Tiredness. What Is Going On?
I have been giving myself shots of b-12 in my glute. I recently developed a lump under the skin in the injection site. Over the last two week the site has gotten sore. The area of soreness is spreading but the lump is the same size. I also noticed that I am feeling really tired. I stopped taking the b-12 but that's obviously not the problem.
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. With the available described details, there appears to be possibility of hematoma formation/ fibrosed scar formation at injection site. This could also be a response to preservative present in the injection. You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ general surgeon/ your treating doctor and should go for thorough check up. You should also go for incision and drainage if small abscess is persisting. If abscess is absent then it is generally self limiting in nature. You can take faster recovery after application of thrombophob ointment. Take care, Dr. Mayank Bhargava
